Situated in Guildford Road East at its junction with Alexandra Road, the Hall is a modern, purpose-built complex suited to a wide range of uses (for location details, click HERE). Completely refurbished in 2006, and on a site that offers up to 15 parking spaces (with additional on-road parking in the locality), it is very well used for a variety of activities such as dance, sport, music and movement for pre-schools, the U3A and for many other local groups. As a result, it is now very difficult to cater for "one off events" such as family celebrations. (Do enquire if you wish, but expect to be disappointed.)
In additon to the Main Hall, there are two spacious meeting rooms: the Wallis Room and the Probart Lounge, both well-suited to meetings and activities for smaller groups, with an ample supply of tables and chairs. The Wallis Room also has a small kitchenette, for the making of teas/coffees (as supplied by the hirer). The complex is complemented by a 'professional-standard' Kitchen, capable (by using your own staff) of preparing and serving a first-class multi-course meal, or just light refreshments. It includes a cooker and a fridge-freezer which hirers can use. There is a supply of cups and saucers (other cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery must be brought by the hirer). NOTE: hirers of the Main Hall are required to also hire the Kitchen. There is full disabled access to the building, along with a specially-adapted toilet that also includes baby-changing facilities. It is available for public hire from 8.00am to 11.00pm Monday to Saturday, and from 1.00pm to 11.00pm on Sundays. It can be hired as a whole complex, or by individual areas, depending upon availability. All charges are by the hour, and vary according to the size/number of areas hired. Be careful to include adequate set-up and strike time in the length of the booking as you will be charged for the entire time you are in the building. Registered charities (we will need your identification number) and uniformed youth organisations are offered a discount. All current charges are available from "Hall Bookings". A 10% deposit is required to secure a booking, with the balance payable by the day of the event. Cheques made payable to: "St. Mark's PCC".
